A resident of Boston, Donna Lazorik is a retired public health nurse with a Masters in Community Health Nursing from Boston University. In addition to spending most of her career in the U.S. with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, she worked in Khmer refugee camps in Thailand in the 1980’s and assessed primary care programs throughout Vietnam for the William Joiner Foundation in 1990. In 2002, she volunteered as a technical consultant with the World Health Organization on the Global Polio Eradication Program in Western Kenya. Donna has traveled to East Africa on multiple visits with GTL and has witnessed the transformative power of a high school education for girls in developing countries. She has served in several capacities on the GTL board, including president and clerk.
