These two exceptional young ladies come from financially challenged backgrounds but have managed to perform exceptionally in their academics. They have a lovely, honest conversation about their histories and their current experience schooling at our partner school. Kapropita Girls High School is based in Baringo County, Kenya.
Baringo County is one of the 47 Counties of Kenya. It is located in the former Rift Valley Province. Its headquarters and largest town is Kabarnet. The county is home to Lake Baringo. Three of the GTL partner schools reside in this region; Mogotio, Pemwai, and Kapropita majority of the girls in these schools come from marginalized communities and have families whose primary source of income is pastoralist activities. Other than this, Female Genital Circumcision is common, and girls are married off while young. Supporting girls in this region is key to empowering them and their families.

Teresa is an amazing example of the impact of GTL's support, she is an Associate Instructional Professor & Biology Major Undergraduate Co-ordinator at the University of Florida, US.
In becoming a young woman, love and relationships significantly affect how we feel about ourselves, how we relate to others, and create expectations, and aspirations. Commonly in African homes and contexts, love isn't something people express to each other.
GTL encourages cross-cultural exchange of information and ideas, especially promoting women’s empowerment in East Africa. We have partnered with 14 schools in the 3 countries and Karoti Girls is one of the schools. It is based in Kirinyaga County, Kenya and Mrs. Purity Mugambi shares here her experience with GTL and supporting education for girls.
Our films hope to inspire contribution and partnering to supporting girls' education. We truly believe " Educate a girl. She'll do the rest." If you like out films, please share them. It truly supports our cause to have as many people hear the stories of our changemakers.
