GTL’s Fall Appeal & Newsletter 2017

Dear Friend of GTL,

I wish you all could have heard the speakers at the Growth Through Learning fundraiser in October. The village rejoices when a girl gets a GTL scholarship, knowing a better future awaits them. This was Teresa Sogomo’s message to us when she came all the way from Rift Valley, Kenya to tell us how important GTL’s support is for girls at Mogotio Girls Boarding School, where she is the principal.

Your gift of $50 or $100 ensures that scholarship recipients can travel from their home villages to boarding school; $350 pays school fees for one girl for a half-year;  $3,000 supports a girl through four years of high school.

With support of GTL scholarships and their own hard work, impoverished girls from rural villages and city slums have gone into science, business, teaching, construction management, medicine, veterinary medicine, and nursing, to name a few occupations. Many GTL alumnae now support their own siblings and other relatives through school, and are role models for girls in their communities. They are living proof of our motto: Invest in a girl.  She will do the rest.

Your gift is more important than ever.  Please send us your gift today.

On behalf of the GTL scholars and their families, we thank you!

Do read our Fall 2017 Newsletter for stories on GTL scholars, our July trip to East Africa, and our 20th Anniversary Gala. It has been an amazing year!

Sincerely,

Wanjiku K Mwangi

Executive Director
