GTL Fall Appeal 2016

Growth Through Learning, (GTL) has supported over 1,300 girls in Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania, to acquire high school diplomas since 1997. Your financial support has been a key pillar of this effort. With your fall contributions in 2015, we awarded 187 scholarships at the beginning of 2016. Would you kindly increase your fall contribution this year by 10% to enable us to offer at least 250 scholarships in 2017? Girls sponsored by GTL have a 100% graduation rate from high school.

For GTL scholarship recipients, the benefits have been many.

•        Each extra year of a girl’s education is associated with a 10% to 20%

increase in her future income.

•        Marriage and childbearing is delayed.

•        Her children are healthier and better educated.

•        She has the tools to become an agent of change for herself, her family, and

her community.

•        The cycle of poverty can be broken.

Your  gift  is  extremely  important  to  the  girls  and  women  of  East  Africa.    It  costs $700 a year, or $60 a month, to send a girl to a good boarding school, where she is safe and able to focus on her studies. We strive to keep our overhead costs to 30% of our annual income, allowing us to spend 70% of the income on program and scholarship costs.

Please send us your gift today. The whole GTL community is counting on your support. The country volunteer coordinators, GTL scholars, their parents and the GTL Board, join me in thanking you for your continued financial support.

Thanks so much for your help.
